The Dogs

Say hello to Riesling

She is the newest member to the family. We adopted her from the Lost Dog Foundation in October 11′. She is a German Shepherd/Grey Hound mix.

Now meet our problem child..

Well his name really isn’t Problem Child. His actual name is Dempsey. He is just a little…..crazy, but still love him. He is a Jack Russell Mix (this may explain it all). We adopted him from a family whose other dog did not like him. How can you not love this face? Both dogs are high energy, which is great because they keep each other occupied.

Training

I consider my dogs to be pretty well trained. They listen to my commands (sit, stay, drop it, etc.) and respond most of the time to recalls. They have also become good walkers and walk by my side instead of pulling in front.

Food and Treats

Of course they have to eat healthy too! I give them Nature’s Select brand of food. It is free of all the bad ingrediets for dogs (corn, wheat, chemical preservatives, wheat) and they deliver it to my house for free! This great especially because we purchase a 40lb bag of food.

For treats we LOVE Zukes, especially the Minis. These are perfect for training because they are small and moist. When you are training you want something they can eat quick. And of course they are super healthy for dogs too!

Toys

Well this is still something we have not yet perfected. I really think these two can destroy a tire. We have gone through many toys. One brand that has treated us well is West Paw Design. Also Kong is a good brand too. Look what they did to this rope within a day.

  2. I love your site! My dogs are like my kiddos too. I may have to try the Nature’s select dog food—all natural is the way to go and free delivery is a huge plus! I’ve always bought my dogs science diet but it may be time for a change…

    • Thanks! Yes I highly recommend the food. Just remember to gradually introduce them to their new food. If not, they may get diarrhea… no fun.
