When we woke up it was sunny!!!! Soooo excited. The first thing we did was get breakfast. There were many breakfast places that looked good. We decided on a place that was outside. It was a very big breakfast hard to decide!
Matt decided on an omelet
I decided on a fruit filled pancake…..with ice cream! There were many breakfast items that come with ice cream. I guess they figure many people do not mind during a vacation.
I sure did not mind! It was filled with wonderful fruit too.
After dessert breakfast we walked around and booked some of our excursions.
After we were done booking and sightseeing the sun started to go down and it got quite windy and chilly. That didn’t stop us from going tubing! Tubing is an extremely fun water sport that requires no skill except holding on to dear life to the tube. You and several other people sit on a tube while a boat pulls you. We did tubing through Coral Sea Resort water sports. The guy who took us out was awesome. Usually you go tubing for 15 minutes, we were definitely out for longer. He also went really fast
When we got back to the hotel and ready for the rest of the day it was 3pm. A little late for lunch and a little early for dinner. Since we were all extremely hungry we decided to have an appetizer at this place we had our eye on. The reason it caught our eye was because the brochure said 700 beers!!!!!
The place was a liquor store and a restaurant called Denman Cellars. They don’t have a website
Pretty cool! The only downfall of having a liquor store as opposed to a bar is that everything is in bottles so there is no tasting. Instead we had our own mini tasting.
For an appetizer we ordered the Aussie platter which consisted of different meats and dips. There was kangaroo, emu, barramundi fish and crocodile.
Then we had a couple of more beers. Do you think an immature male named these??
For out last beer we each had a “shot” of tequila beer.
It was quite good! Cheers!
After our tasting we headed out to dinner at an awesome seafood restaurant called Shipwrecked. They served their beers in coozies.
Ever hear of reef and beef? It is their name for surf and turf.
Quite delicious. The best part are the bugs or Morton bay bugs. They are comparable to lobster tails, but better! I had their special which was a fish I have never heard of called Red Emperor, delicious as well!
After a dinner we headed out to a popular bar called Magnums. We ordered several jugs of beer, I think Carlton Draught and played pool outside.
What an awesome day!
