Our first full day on the Sunshine coast of Mooloolaba and it was rainy! Actually it has been raining all week so it was not us. Per the locals it has never rained liked this for days at a time. Supposedly They have been in a drought for the past 17 years. Bloody crazy!
Michelle lives 5 minutes from an awesome beach and the Esplenade aka boardwalk of shops and restaurants. usually by water Pictures to come on a different post when it is full of sunshine.
After a delicious omelet breakfast courtesy of chef Michelle we went for a walk on the Esplenade. It was also my first for ordering the type of coffee I actually wanted. So in Australia coffee just refers to the bean. The first time that I ordered a coffee in Manly the employee asked me what type and rambled all these different kinds. I didn’t want to stand there forever so I ordered the first thing that I recognized which was a latte. I asked Michelle’s husband James how to order our version of a regular coffee and he said if you want it black you ask for a long black and if you want a coffee with milk you order a flat white.
So here is me and my flat white. So happy!
Yes, my hair is extremely frizzy for the rest of the trip.
After a quick walk on the Esplenade Matt and I booked jet skiing. Then Michelle took us to Noosa Island. Noosa island is it’s own litle town with a beach, but we just walked the park part of it. It was awesome. Albeit the clouds and occasional rain it was beautiful.
After a 3 hour excursion at Noosa Island we can back to their apartment and James took us to the most amazing liquor store called Dan Murphy’s. There was an enormous wine and beer selection.
Make your own 10 pack!
After some fun with beer we went back to her place for dinner. Michelle and James were treating us to a homemade meal! So good after eating out for 3 straight days. On the menu crispy salmon with brussel sprouts and steamed broccoli and carrots. Michelle was contemplating how to make the brussel sprouts she picked up. I suggested the caramelized brussel sprouts recipe that I use so I became in charge of the sprouts.
Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Crispy salmon is a Hill favorite!
Thanks Michelle!

I’m so happy you posted your brussel sprouts recipe cuz James was asking for it the other day . SO yummy!! If you come back we promise to cook you crispy skin salmon every night!!! Miss you guys!
