Several weeks ago Matt and I went to Long Island for a wedding. We stayed with his parent’s who own a puppy. The puppy and our dogs got along so great! We were worried because sometimes Dempsey acts like a big shot around puppies. Check out this video that his father made.

So when we got back we wanted to give them a present, so the pups and I hiked over to their favorite store Living Ruff. This place is wonderful! I purchased something for them and something for me.

I’ve been meaning to get myself a treat tote. Treats are an important part of training, and I am not good at remembering to always give them treats. I give them treats when they are around, but if they are randomly doing something good by the time I grab a treat, I am too late to reward the good behavior.

When I was training at the Washington Humane Society to be a Dog Specialist, they gave me a clip on pouch to use for treats when we went for walks. I loved this, because I always thought the only dog treat pouches were fanny packs, which I could not bring myself to use.

I mean they are totally great, but I did not want to embarrass Riesling So instead I got this one. They are made by the brand Canine Hardware and it has so far been great! I just clip it to my shorts/pants and fill the bag up with treats.  I definitely have gotten better at training with treats since they are now so accesible!

For Riesling and Dempsey, I got them pizza! Yep you heard that right!

Riesling of course wanted veggie, but I told her all they had was pepperoni. She said that was fine, but requested more vegetables for dinner.

On the walk home, Riesling and Dempsey were having a great time enjoying the beautiful sun.
