So just how New York doesn’t sleep, neither did I last night. I was up all night making cupcakes!

These cupcakes are not healthy, I repeat these cup cakes are not healthy

Let’s go Giants! The last time the Giants were in the super-bowl I made Cupcakes, so why not make them this time again! Since the purpose of these cupcakes were for the decoration, not necessarily the taste I did not spend any time making homemade cup cakes. I used cake mix, but a good cake mix! Yellow cake and Chocolate cake mix from Pillsbury. Pillsbury mixes are always super moist, so I knew they would taste good.

After I made 4 dozen cup cakes according to the instructions, I let them cool so it would be easy to frost and decorate them.

Wow, I’m going to have a lot of work to do, better get started!

I learned how to decorate cake from a Cake Decorating class at Michaels. Even though making Giant’s cupcakes does not require a lot of detail, or too much skill, I still would not have known the ins and outs of using pastry bags. Totally recommend the class.

I used Michaels brand of butter cream, which is very good for decorating. I started with white buttercream and then made two seperate pastry bags of blue and red buttercream. To do this I mixed some blue and red food coloring with the plain buttercream. You only need a little bit of dye because it is very strong.

Look how blue that came out! Red on the other hand is hard to get. You need to use ALOT of dye, so my red winds up looking more like pink.

After my cupcakes were cooled I frosted them with plain white frosting.

Then comes the decorating. Originally I was not going to free hand the logo because I am artistically inept (sorry Dad)! I was going to trace it out with a stencil, but after I practiced a couple I figured out a way to draw out the Logo look pretty good.

First I used a larger Tip for the blue writing.

To outline the New York Giants Logo I used the red buttercream with a skinnier tip. It is great to outline writing because it helps to hide mistakes you made previously

3 hours later I had 2 dozen Giants Cupcakes.
